Artist's Comments

EDIT: July 1, 2009 (rabbit rabbit rabbit)--

First off, THANK YOU TO ALL MY SUPPORTERS!!! :woohoo: E-Cookies for you all. XD

Cleaned up the comments. There was a lot of senseless bashing, old arguments that got nowhere, and generally negative comments.
I let them stand for a while (like... a year.) to be fair and let other people see the other side that does NOT support the stamp, but, really, if you don't support this, the stamp doesn't apply to you.

Quite frankly I'm different now, considering I made this a YEAR ago, and don't use Japanese AS OFTEN, but I still do anyway. I love the Japanese culture and will continue learning about it it.

For the record, I'm keeping OTAKU because, to me, it's not an insulting term and a lot of people proudly hold the title of Otaku. If it's insulting to you... don't use the stamp then. Not that hard. :\

For the record now, if you oppose the stamp and want to make a good point which can sustain an argument, fine go ahead and comment with your distain or disapproval.
But, seriously, if it's a comment saying "I don't support this." then there's no point in keeping it here. I will hide it and that's that.

Seriously, that's like saying "TWILIGHT SUCKS" on a pro-Twilight stamp-- it's useless, a waste of time, and only grinds peoples' gears. Hating a fandom or popular trend isn't going to make it go away. :\

FYI- Not a Twilight fan here. Quite the opposite. I'm using that as an example.

Japanenglish= Japanese + English... because "Wapanese".... is just a stupid, derogatory word.

I used "-slash-" in the title, because dA doesn't allow the "/" symbol in the title ¬_¬

The story behind this stamp:

A LOT of people get seriously ticked off when an anime fan (AKA Otaku) throws a little common Japanese like "kawaii," "desu," "arigato," etc. in their English sentence to be cute and someone else has to throw a freakin' hissy fit about how they are speaking ENGLISH and should use ENGLISH ONLY and ramble on and on and ON about how the other isn't Japanese or something stupid like that.
I, personally, cannot stand when that happens. It's whiney, annoying, and causes fights

And, yes, in case you were wondering, I DO use Japanese (NOT "WAPANESE". Grow up, people.) occasionally in my sentences.
I also use German, Spanish, Italian and the occasional French.
It's my way of expressing my admiration for other languages. Can't people just respect that?

Anyway, I made this stamp to:

1. Express my opinion on the matter and
2. Share this with all that agree.
And once I upgrade my account to a subscription, I will be using this, along with other stamps. x]

I know, I'm practically commiting suicide making a stamp like this, seeing as it'll probably set a spark off in the "English Only"-brainers. Hey, to make it more exciting, I WON'T disable comments. That's unfair in my opinion. I didn't make this to start fights, only to express my opinion and share it with others. If some people can't see that... that's their problem.

Everyone else:

Enjoy! :blowkiss:

Stamp © Me, but you are free to use it :)

I only know a few words of Japanese but never use them IRL but I don't mind when someone would say it in an English/Dutch conversasion...makes it more fun ;)

and it's more fun when you call someone a Baka ( "idiot" if I'm correct ) while the person doesn't know what it means xD
